That may sound like a harsh reaction but there are rules for a first date, just like there re rules for a job interview. You don’t ask on a job interview if “they ever press charges” and you don’t ask stuff like this. Your soulmate is not going to ask this. And to be redundant, I am only talking about someone saying this NOT as a joke. If it was a joke then that’s fine, and under the right circumstances could be endearing.
